Madie Coryell was born in Fountain Valley and raised Garden Grove where her dance journey began. Her passion for dance stemmed from her placement on the Bell Intermediate Dance Team at age 12. At age 13 she choreographed her first routine for their yearly dance show. After being exposed to the amazing world of dance, she extended her training to Melodie’s Dance Theater located in Los Alamitos. There she trained in various styles such as ballet, pointe, tap, hip hop, jazz, modern, contemporary, acrobats, and lyrical. While Madie was training, she gained 5 years dance teaching experience at Melodie’s Dance theater. She was also a part of the advanced dance program at Pacifica High School where she continued her creativity and choreographed another routine as a freshmen in high school. After high school, Madie moved on to join the Cypress College dance family. There she trained in Latin, swing, African, modern, jazz, and choreography. She choreographed routines for four of their dance shows. After her first opportunity to choreograph in college, she was awarded the Dawn Wesley scholarship for excellent leadership skills and choreography. Her success in the dance program at Cypress College led the director to offer her a place in her dance company, Maha and Company. Today, she is a dancer with the Disneyland Resorts and is on her path to obtain a master’s degree in Dance. Her passion for dance has carried her thus far and wishes to spread her love for this art form to many others.
